A large, socially engaged organization with a robust IT landscape is looking for an experienced Data Engineer to help design, improve, and maintain its central data platform. Your work will directly contribute to smarter decision-making, better services, and the development of innovative data products.

Your Role: Bridging Data and Business

As a Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for setting up, managing, and continuously improving the data platform. Your goal is to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and secure, empowering the business to make informed decisions and enhance overall performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Translating data requests into efficient, scalable solutions;
  • Designing and maintaining an Enterprise Data Model (EDM) as a semantic layer across all organizational data;
  • Modeling data at both logical and physical levels based on conceptual business needs;
  • Building data pipelines and lakehouses on modern platforms (e.g. Azure, Databricks, Snowflake);
  • Ensuring data quality, clear documentation, and strong governance practices;
  • Managing access to data environments in line with internal data policies;
  • Collaborating closely with business and IT stakeholders;

  • Reporting to the Lead Data Engineer.

     

Your Profile: Analytical, Solution-Oriented & Communicative

  • Master's degree with at least 5 years of experience in data modeling (including Kimball methodology);
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, and Pyspark;
  • Experience with modern data platforms and BI tools (Cognos, Power BI, Tableau);
  • Ability to think abstractly and translate concepts into models and code;
  • A proactive team player who gives and receives feedback constructively;
  • Familiar with GDPR and agile methodologies;
  • Focused on delivering value quickly, while building the EDM iteratively;

  • Fluent in Dutch and French.
