As a BI Engineer, you will join a leading organization active in mobility and customer services, with a strong focus on reliability, innovation, and customer experience. You will work in a complex, data-rich environment where analytics plays a key role in operational excellence and strategic decision-making.

You will design, build, and optimize end-to-end analytics solutions: from data ingestion and transformation to performant data models and user-friendly dashboards. You work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and analysts to deliver reliable insights that are used on a daily basis.

Your responsibilities

Data Integration & Pipelines

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory or Synapse Pipelines, Azure Databricks (where applicable), and Azure Functions.
  • Integrate data from various sources (operational systems, external partners, APIs, and SaaS solutions) into Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, following best practices for performance, schema evolution, and cost control.

Data Modeling & Data Warehousing

  • Design dimensional data models (star and snowflake) and build semantic layers using Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL Database, and Power BI datasets.
  • Implement medallion architectures and ensure data quality through validation and monitoring mechanisms.

Analytics & Visualization

  • Develop performant Power BI reports and dashboards used by both operational teams and management.
  • Create reusable DAX measures and optimize data models and query performance.

Governance, Security & Compliance

  • Apply data governance and security in a regulated environment, with a strong focus on privacy and compliance.
  • Manage environments and deployments using Azure DevOps and Power BI deployment pipelines.

Operations & Collaboration

  • Monitor the performance, reliability, and cost of BI solutions.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to define KPIs and translate data into actionable insights.

     

Desired profile

Our ideal BI Engineer:

  • Has 3 to 5+ years of experience in BI, Data Engineering, or Analytics roles, with strong hands-on experience in Azure.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of Power BI, Azure Data Factory/Synapse, Azure SQL, and data modeling.
  • Understands ETL/ELT architectures, performance optimization, and data governance.
  • Communicates easily with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Is fluent in English and also speaks Dutch and/or French.
